The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) held their “Excellence in Construction” Award Ceremony on Thursday, September 26th in Indianapolis IN. The Dilling team won 3 awards for our excellent work at Winnebago, Ingredion and FTIC. The descriptions of the projects follow.
Congratulations for Jobs Well Done!
FTIC Multi-Phase Expansion
Fukai Toyotetsu Indiana Corporation, known as “FTIC” has expanded their world-class automotive components manufacturing plant in Jamestown Indiana. This Japan based joint-venture between Fukai Manufacturing Company Ltd. and Toyotetsu has invested more than 50 million dollars to double the company’s current 125,000 square foot facility to 250,000 square feet.
Japan-based GC firm Takenaka with US offices in Itasca Illinois and Indianapolis performed general contractor services for this project.
Dilling Group, Inc. provided design build engineering, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to meet the demanding completion date required to accommodate the owner’s desire to start production on schedule in order to fulfil production commitments.
FTIC is a Tier 1 supplier of steel frames, mainly to Subaru Indiana Corporation (SIA) in Lafayette Indiana, and is another valued member of our Indiana automotive manufacturing community.
Winnebago of Indiana Expansion
Iowa-based Winnebago Industries invested more than $12 million dollars to expand production at their Winnebago Towables campus in Middlebury, Indiana.
The addition of nearly 200,000 square feet of space has resulted in approximately 100 new jobs in this northern Indiana community. The new facility features a sophisticated building management system to control energy sources and ensure energy is used only when needed. In addition, the new facility has been paired with the latest advanced manufacturing equipment to create a safer, more productive work environment.
Construction Management services were provided by Ryan Companies US, Inc. with offices in Minneapolis and Naperville Illinois. Serving markets in the healthcare, office, mixed-use, retail, senior living, industrial, hospitality and multifamily sectors, Ryan Companies US provides A&E, construction, development and real estate management services at the national level.
Dilling Group, Inc. delivered mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction services for this fast-paced project, in cooperation and collaboration with Winnebago of Indiana and Ryan Companies.
Ingredion Steep-House Expansion
Chicago-based Ingredion, a global producer of starches, sweeteners, texturants, and nutritionals, has invested over 100 million dollars since 2015 to upgrade legacy facilities acquired in greater Indianapolis.
One recent phase of this work was the “Steep-House Project” at the Drover Street facility, a grain processing operation that required updating and modernizing to increase production, operational housekeeping, sanitation, and safety.
The owner’s commitment to make a substantial investment, combined with a winning spirit of cooperation between the construction manager, contractor, and owner, has resulted in a more modern, efficient and safe facility that should serve customers and employees of Ingredion, as well as the community of Indianapolis, for years to come.
